Managing Canada geese and white-cheeked geese at three of the most geese-dense public beaches in Stockholm.
Stockholm’s most popular public beaches were under heavy pressure from Canada geese and white-cheeked geese — fouling the sand, degrading water quality, and forcing periodic closures right when residents most wanted access.
With Flox in place, more than 7,600 geese were herded back to natural habitats, keeping the beaches clean and open to the public throughout the season.
It’s a clear demonstration of coexistence in a busy urban setting: guiding wildlife to where it belongs, without harm, while protecting a shared public space.
