We are proud to share that Dagens Industri, Sweden’s leading business newspaper, has published an in-depth feature on Flox and our CEO Sara Nožková, following her reception of H.M. The King’s The Young Pioneer Award at the Royal Palace.
The Young Pioneer Award is part of H.M. The King’s “Årets Nybyggare”, Sweden’s most prestigious national recognition for entrepreneurs with a foreign background. The award celebrates individuals who embody innovation, resilience, and the ability to shape Sweden’s future through entrepreneurship.
In the article, Dagens Industri highlights Sara’s journey from international relations and mobility innovation to co-founding Flox — and developing a groundbreaking system that uses AI, bioacoustics, sensors, and wildlife science to prevent wildlife–infrastructure collisions across roads, railways, airports, agriculture, and more.
“Some species have more than 20,000 vocalizations. That’s their language — and we build it into our algorithms,” Sara explains in the interview.
The feature covers:
Flox’s evolution from early prototypes to commercial deployment across Sweden, Europe, and North America
Active collaborations with partners like Trafikverket, Boliden, and multiple US transportation and aviation authorities
The company’s expansion in the US, where the majority of customers are now based
Flox’s vision of becoming the global leader for intelligent wildlife management across all sectors
The jury behind The Young Pioneer Award praised Flox for combining AI, bioacoustics, edge technology, drones, and sensors to create a deterrence language that wildlife actually responds to — already reducing collisions today, even in early deployment stages.
Sara reflects in the article on the perseverance required to build a frontier-technology company:
“You must dare to hold onto your idea. Behind every success story lies a lot of hard work and challenges that people don’t see. It took four years for us to get here — and now it is finally taking off.”
This recognition marks a significant milestone both for Sara and for Flox. As interest in wildlife coexistence solutions accelerates globally, the award and national media spotlight highlight the importance — and urgency — of intelligent, humane wildlife management.
We are grateful to H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf, Dagens Industri, and all partners who continue to support our mission.
Together, we are building a world where humans and wildlife can safely coexist.
